A Dark Matter by Steve Berry is a highly atmospheric, thought-provoking and atmospheric casino game that gives players an eerie sense of wonder. The player is taken through a strange, dreamlike maze that recreates the atmosphere and ambiance of a Gothic novel or science fiction movie. This is because the main character, our intrepid hero, starts out in a room at the bottom of a long, twisting, metallic tube – only to emerge upside down and into a world of blackness, lit by an unknown source.
Visually, A Dark Matter is wonderful set in Stonehurst (an English town), strange disappearances have ledaedyle Manor to the depths of the town, and a dark, foreboding staircase takes you to the upper levels of the casino. On your way up, you’ll see symbols for A, K, L, J, R, S, T, V and 10 royals on the reel reels. Symbolisms include A, which represents the sun, K stands for the night, L stands for love, J represents justice, S is for speed, T is for time and A is for action or death. Then there’s the unseen symbol, the number 10, which means the end of the current round. Finally, the casino game icon, the skull, also represents death and murder.
In the game, you’ll get to see many themes, such as the Victorian theme, Alice in Wonderland, the Looney Tunes and more. At the beginning of the game, there’s a short introduction that explains the concept of the game, how it works, the symbols used, how the game mechanics work and so on. On each of the five reels, there are different icons, for example, on the second reel you’ll see the symbol for J. After you’ve clicked on it, another icon, the one for L, will appear. When you click on it again, another icon, the one for R, will appear. The symbols are used to tell you what kind of action needs to be done, and to guide you through the various stages of the game.
